It’s not about a tree or decorations.
It’s not about the stores and shopping.
It’s not about the gifts or the thought.
It’s not about a fat guy in a red suit.
It’s not about a teenage mom.
It’s not about a faithful husband.
It’s not about a trek home.
It’s not about an inn.
It’s not about a stable or a manger.
It’s not about shepherds watching sheep.
It’s not about a star.
It’s not about wise men seeking.
It’s not about their gifts.
It’s NOT about a baby.
It’s not about a lash or a thorny crown.
It’s not about nails and a cross.
It’s not about a forsaken Son …
It’s not about an empty tomb.
It’s not even about a returning King
It’s about God choosing to love you, to love you so much He would put aside the adoration of the hosts of heaven, empty Himself, become a man, and die a death that pays your debt in order to provide a way for you to choose to love Him. It’s about His desire to gather you to Himself, that where He is, you will be also.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
“Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!”
